The Survey of Households in Israel is the first longitudinal survey of its kind in Israel. The survey examines changes and processes occurring in households and individuals over time in a variety of topics, such as household composition and demographics, health, education, employment, income from work and non-work income, the household's residential dwelling, physical assets, financial assets, and more.
In addition, from 2012 to 2017, the survey included other topics, including parental involvement in the child's life, homework and private lessons, and information on the opinions of young persons aged 15-17 on a variety of topics.
Survey objectives:
· To investigate over time a permanent sample (panel) of households and persons in areas such as employment status, income, poverty and financial conduct, and social issues — education, housing, health, etc.
· To formulate socio-economic policy on the investigative topics of the survey, appropriate for population groups with different characteristics
· To support national policy, monetary policy and academic research
· To examine the effects of policy changes on household behavior and the relationships between them
The survey data are intended for decision-makers, researchers, the general public and more.
This survey is conducted jointly with the Bank of Israel, the National Insurance Institute, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education.
