National Expenditure on Education amounted to NIS 148.9 billion at current prices, comprising 8.0% of the Gross Domestic Product. The national expenditure on education increased by 1.3%, (at constant prices) following an increase of 4.3% in 2022.
National Expenditure on Education per capita (at constant prices) decreased by 0.8% as opposed to an increase of 2.3% in 2022.
19.5% of the national expenditure on education is financed by households, non-profit institutions serving households, donations and grants. The general government sector (government, local authorities and non-profit institutions financed mainly by government) financed 80.5% of the total national education expenditure, an increase compared to 2022 (79.8%).
