Data for the Hebrew year 5781:

On the eve of Rosh Hashanah 2021, the population of Israel was estimated at approximately 9.391 million persons. The population is expected to reach 10 million residents at the end of 2024, 15 million residents at the end of 2048, and 20 million residents at the end of 2065.

The Jewish population numbers approximately 6.943 million residents (74% of the total population); the Arab population numbers approximately 1.982 million (21%), and the population of Others numbers approximately 466,000 (5%).

The population of Israel has grown by approximately 146,000. The annual population growth rate was 1.6%.

Approximately 172,000 babies were born.

Approximately 48,000 persons died. Of those, approximately 5,800 died from COVID-19 (in the 11.5 months that passed since Rosh Hashanah last year).

Approximately 22,000 persons were added to the population in the migration balance. Of those, approximately 20,000 were new immigrants.
